Grilled Tuna with Honey Mustard Marinade

Grilled Tuna with Honey Mustard Marinade
United States and Japan are the largest consumers of tuna fish.

It is served as a delicacy in many parts and in modern times the fast food chains too have included tuna in their recipes.

You can grill the tuna steaks in a variety of seasonings over the charcoal or a gas grill. The sushi grade tuna fish makes for the best flavour.

Tuna is a very lean fish and dries out quickly on the grill. Marinating and applying oil reduces the problem but doesn’t eliminate it, so you should serve it with a sauce or some kind of salsa.

Ingredients

• 1/3 cup red wine vinegar
• 1 tbsp spicy brown mustard
• 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
• 1 tbsp honey
• 1-11/2 pounds fresh tuna steaks
• Garlic herb for seasoning

Directions

Combine all the ingredients except the tuna fish in a jar and shake to mix well. Put tuna in a food storage bag and add 4 tbsp of the marinade to it. Seal the bag and let the tuna marinate for about 20 minutes. Then separate the tuna from the marinade. Brush the grill with olive oil and heat. Grill the tuna over high heat for about 4-5 minutes on each side. You can grill it longer if you like your tuna well done.

You can also grill it over a very high heat for 1-2 minutes. Pour the marinade in a small saucepan. Bring it to a boil and then remove from heat and set aside. If you want, you can drizzle the hot marinade over the grilled tuna.
